Our Story
We are a collective of hands, not a factory of machines. Based in the heart of Chiang Mai, Siam Wood Artisans was born from a simple realization: the traditional woodworking techniques of Northern Thailand were at risk of being silenced by mass production.
We chose a different path. We are a community of local makers, neighbors, and master carvers working in small workshops to ensure that the soul of Thai craftsmanship remains vibrant and valued.
From the Earth, For the Future
We don't cut down forests; we listen to the wood that has already lived a life. Everything we create—from our intricate art pieces to our tactile kitchenware and hand-carved games—is crafted from recycled and upcycled wood.
By repurposing old teak beams from decommissioned structures and offcuts from local timber yards, we turn "forgotten" material into timeless objects. This isn't just a design choice; it is our commitment to the land that sustains us.
What We Make
In every piece of reclaimed teak, there is a story waiting to be finished. We are simply the ones holding the tools.
Art & Symbols: Deeply personal sculptures and Buddhist symbols that serve as anchors for mindfulness.
The Kitchen: Hand-turned bowls and utensils designed to be used, aged, and passed down.
Play: Traditional games carved with a level of detail that makes them centerpieces, not just pastimes.
The Steward: Khun Neung
"Wood has been my teacher for most of my life."
Khun Neung’s craft was forged in the workshops of Northern Thailand, learning from community masters who taught him to "listen" to the wood. After a lifetime at the bench, Neung founded our collective to bridge the gap between ancient traditions and the modern home.
Today, he leads our community of makers with a focus on reclamation. He hand-selects the weathered teak beams and upcycled timber that form the foundation of our work, ensuring every piece carries the soul of the "old ways." For Neung, we aren't just making objects; we are continuing a conversation that started generations ago.
